Brussels
Gridlock at Place Meiser, tailback on Rue de la Loi, breakdown in the Louise tunnel, roadworks affecting traffic into Brussels coming from Liege.
Heavy delays can be expected.
Sadly this means we will miss the very interesting lecture on “Folding techniques 1695 to 1945 – The role of the crease in establishing the Industrial Revolution” by Amanda Tiddler of the Belgian Fabric Council.
Instead we will venture to the recently opened World of Lard in Swindon, where all your lard needs are catered for.
To good to miss!
Some might think going from Belgium to Swindon to stock up on lard is a waste of time – but they’d be wrong!
However Swindon isn’t always the paradise it seems to be – as this chilling story proves: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-17540045
Scary stuff and you are right it makes perfect sense to travle to Swindon from Brussels to stock up. We may not do much any more in blighty but by the Gods we know about lard.
I saw the lecture called Folding Under Pressure… fascinating stuff…
The World of Lard was also awesome. The artistic renderings of the animal renderings were wonderful, with the paintings by Neolardo Dafatti being my personal favorites.. The Fat is Phat room was cool. I loved the wading pool, although it was hard not to feel slippery afterwards.
Two for One tickets this weekend!
How could anyone miss the World of Lard?
On the Chippenham Road Andra, next door to The Wonderful World of the Egg.
I want to get me some lard, right now! Hahaha!
I’ve put some in the post Susie.
I was too busy to go to the lard thing that day as I was at the ‘Invading Poland: Where Did it all Go Wrong’ Conference presented by the Disenfranchised Institute of Retired WarMongerers and Fascist Dicators. Sadly Hitler, Stalin and Mussolini couldn’t attend due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’, but no one seemed to have any detail on what the problem was.
Shame – be good to hear their insights.
